Welcome to taracode. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the taracode CLI tool and the code.tara.vision website and services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Tara Vision, LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

taracode is an open source command-line interface (CLI) tool that enables developers to interact with locally-hosted Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Ollama, vLLM, and llama.cpp. The Service includes:

  • The taracode CLI application (open source, MIT License)
  • Documentation and installation guides at code.tara.vision
  • Source code hosted on GitHub

3. Open Source License

taracode is open source software released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the license terms. The source code is available at github.com/tara-vision/taracode.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit malicious code or interfere with the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond normal CLI usage
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Your LLM Infrastructure

taracode connects to LLM providers that you host and configure locally. You are solely responsible for:

  • The operation and maintenance of your LLM infrastructure
  • Compliance with the licenses and terms of the LLM models you use
  • The content generated by your LLM instances
  • Any costs associated with running your LLM infrastructure

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Tara Vision, LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your use of the Service does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights in the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TARA VISION, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
